Therapeutic exercise refers to performing various physical activities, usually with the assistance of equipment, which helps restore and build physical strength, endurance, balance, flexibility, and stability. There are various types of therapeutic exercises, including isoinertial, isotonic, isometric and isokinetic. These exercises help promote fitness, decrease swelling, improve muscle strength, improve strength of tendons and ligaments, aid in bone density, improve coordination, and increase range of motion.
